London, ON Canada – 2008
Eye Know, a new trivia board game created and developed by Canadians, has been named a Mensa Select winner for 2008. It is one of only five games honored and the only Canadian game to win this award in 2008.
Eye Know – the Visual Trivia Betting Game – introduced at the 2008 Canadian Toy Fair is published by London, Ont.-based game development company Wiggles 3D. The game, which blends images, trivia and betting, was created by Paul Berton, editor-in-chief of The London Free Press, and George Sinclair, a technical writer. Berton is son of the late Canadian historian Pierre Berton.
Eye Know was the only Canadian winner of the prestigious Mensa Select award in 2008. American Mensa names only five games as Mensa Select winners each year. Award winners are chosen by Mensa members during the annual Mind Games competition. The 2008 Mind Games competition was held April 11 to 13 in Phoenix, Ariz. At the event, over 210 players tested 54 game entries.
Eye Know was also named Creative Child Magazines – GAME of The Year – Trivia Games.
Eye Know is trivia with a poker twist. It combines the best of trivia and poker in a game where cards and game chips are collected throughout as players identify amazing visuals, answer compelling trivia questions and place strategic bets on what they think they know about the topic.
The game is available across Canada at Scholar’s Choice stores and select specialty toy stores.
